Whitby is one of Durham Region's most varied communities. The older neighbourhoods south of the 401 have mature trees, established lots, and properties that have seen enough Ontario winters to need real attention — aging interlock, shifted retaining walls, and drainage that wasn't built for today's rainfall. Meanwhile, Whitby's newer north-end subdivisions are still establishing themselves, with builder-grade lots that need proper grading and fresh hardscaping before they're truly finished.
T.A.P Landscaping works across all of Whitby. We recently completed a full backyard transformation in Whitby — new interlocking stonework around a poolside shed, fresh sod installation for a vibrant lawn, and clean gravel drainage work along a sloped section of yard. Tyler Podlowski has been working in and around Whitby for over 15 years, starting in his family's landscaping business before founding T.A.P in 2021.

T.A.P Landscaping partnered with Wilworks Renovations Ltd. and assisted in completing the interlocking and laying the sod around a new poolhouse. We also provided the gravel run-off on the side of the property to make sure that the rain and drainage was handled properly for years to come.
Services for Whitby Homeowners
Whether your lot is brand new or your lawn has been struggling for years, we assess the soil and grade first. Good sod starts below the surface — and in Whitby's varied terrain, that foundation work matters.
Poor drainage shows up differently across Whitby — pooling water in newer lots with thin topsoil, and runoff issues in older properties where grading has shifted over decades. We find where the water is going and fix it properly.
Whitby's varied terrain means sloped and uneven lots are common, particularly in older neighbourhoods. We build retaining walls with proper drainage behind them and a solid base below — built to hold for decades.
Custom interlock patios, walkways, and stonework built for Ontario winters. From new installs to repairing hardscaping that's shifted through freeze-thaw cycles, we build and restore work that lasts.
Fresh garden beds, edging, and planting that adds curb appeal and works with Durham Region's growing seasons — whether you're starting from scratch or refreshing beds that have gotten away from you.
Year-round service. We handle snow removal and salting for Whitby properties all winter, and deliver treated salt to homeowners who manage their own driveways and walkways.
Whitby's real estate market is competitive, and well-maintained outdoor spaces make a real difference — to property value, to how a home shows, and to how much you actually enjoy being outside. A properly drained lot, a finished backyard, or a repaired front walkway protects the property and adds visible value.
T.A.P is owner-operated. Tyler is on-site for every job, not managing from an office. That means you get direct communication, honest timelines, and someone who personally stands behind the work — not a crew that changes every season.
My interlock has shifted and is uneven — can it be repaired?
Often yes. Freeze-thaw cycles cause heaving and shifting, especially in older installs without a deep compacted base. We assess whether repair or full replacement makes more sense for your specific situation before recommending anything.
Do you work across all of Whitby?
Yes — we work throughout Whitby, from the older established neighbourhoods south of the 401 to the newer developments in the north end.
Do you provide a quote before starting?
Always. We visit the property, assess what's needed, and send a clear quote before any work begins. No surprises.
Do you work year-round in Whitby?
Yes — landscaping and hardscaping through spring, summer, and fall, and snow removal and salting all winter.
